HBSDealer (Hardware and Building Supply) recently revealed the winners of their All-Industry Logo Competition. The contest was created to bring attention to the creativity and marketing savvy of the hardware and building supply industry. The entries represented a variety of industries including lumberyards, hardware stores, distributors, and suppliers. From nearly 100 entries, two logos were crowned as winners – one representing dealers, and another representing the supplier and vendor community. And wouldn’t you know it, the New South brand and mascot I helped create came out on top.
Here’s the official analysis from the judges: “The nicely illustrated imagery of a powerful bear with a hardhat and pencil and bold font is instantly iconic. It communicates we’re ready and more than capable of handling any project you entrust to us.”
This is a clear example that good branding can help provide long term relevance and keep you ahead of your competition.
