Hey! I just had some work accepted in PhilMOCA’s upcoming art exhibit, Jibbart Jabbart: A Mr. T-Themed Art Show and Experience. I’m pretty psyched about it. The piece is a 12″ x 16″ archival giclee print titled The Persistence of Mr. Tureaud.
The Mr. T art exhibit will be juried by writer and toy collector, Ben Leach. (Ben’s a toy buddy of mine who I met through my Weirdo Toys blog.) He will decide which artist’s works make their way into the exhibit. The exhibit will also showcase a huge variety of Mr. T memorabilia from Ben’s personal collection among other Mr. T related events.
Check out this interview with Ben over at Geekadelphia to get the full scoop of the night’s events. It sounds like lots of fun. I hate that I’m going to miss it. Some of the night’s activities include:
- Exhibition of artwork from regional and national artists
- Musicians performing cover songs from Mr. T’s albums
- Local group of comedians re-enacting a classic episode of “The A-Team”
- Discussion and display of vintage Mr. T merchandise and other artifacts
- Screening of the 1984 Mr. T Christmas Special, “A Christmas Dream,” starring Emmanuel Lewis
